Contraindication List
For at least 48 hours prior to your appointment, you should avoid:
Alcohol
Blood-thinning medications: Aspirin, Alka-Seltzer, any anti-inflammatory medications (NSAID pain relievers) such as ibuprofen, naproxen, Aleve, Motrin, and Excedrin
For at least two weeks prior to your appointment, you should avoid:
Botox injections in the forehead/glabella
Fish oil/krill, ginger or turmeric supplements
For at least three weeks prior to your appointment, you should avoid:
Retinol/Tretinoin
Chemical Peels
Laser Treatments
Antibiotics
For at least one year prior to your appointment, you should be free from the following treatments:
Accutane
Chemotherapy/Radiation
Who should avoid permanent makeup?
Pregnant or breastfeeding: cannot undergo the service. There is not enough medical research to deem the service safe for these individuals.
Epilepsy/prone to seizures: cannot undergo the service. Bright lights are used during the service which may trigger a seizure during the appointment.
Heart conditions/pacemaker: cannot undergo the service. Topical epinephrine is used during the service which increases heart rate.
Prone to infection: cannot undergo the service. The skin is penetrated during the service and the area will be prone to infection during healing.
Hemophilia/bleeding disorder: cannot undergo the service. Excessive bleeding during the service will force the ink out of the skin as it is being implanted and will yield a poor healed result.
Immunocompromised: should exercise caution. Efficient healing processes are required for optimal results. An individual with an autoimmune disease/disorder may be able to have the service, but a physician’s documented clearance is required prior to the appointment.
Diabetes: should exercise caution. Efficient healing processes are required for optimal results. An individual with diabetes may be able to have the service, but the condition must be well-controlled, and a physician’s documented clearance is required prior to the appointment.
